We rally here at Palm Bay by invitation from South London centre,
who will make you most welcome.
Cliftonville is a suburb of East Margate but manages to retain its
own unique identity. Its long sandy beaches at the foot of the cliffs
has been a popular holiday destination since Victorian times, and
this is where the first covered bathing machines were invented in
Our site is just over the road from the beach, which can be
accessed by foot in five minutes, providing an ideal opportunity for
breezy clifftop walks, seashore wandering or sandcastle building. The
bustling town of Margate is only a short drive away with its many
attractions of seaside amusements, shops, and, of course, the Turner
Contemporary Art Gallery.
Just outside Cliftonville is Quex Park, which includes a Regency
house and gardens, and the fantastic Powell Cotton museum, full of
stuffed animals from Africa, artworks, porcelain, and all
sorts of weird and wonderful exhibits – a must to visit
